I’m getting into Kayaking. That’s right kayaking! I’ve recently been reminded that I don’t have healthy hobbies.
I love God’s work,
I love my family.
But other than that, I don’t do much else, and that’s not healthy. So I’m trying kayaking….funny thing is I really struggle getting in and out of those things. I don’t know if kayaking is a big man’s sport but I’m going for it.
I really enjoy being out in God’s creation, and I enjoy discovering new places and the solitude. Now every time I see a water way I think “Man, that would be cool to Kayak!”. I don’t have a clue what I’m doing, but I’m enjoying it so much I think it’s time to buy my own. I’m exploring other healthy hobbies…what are yours? Any ideas?

Let me know when you are ready for the white water experience. I am always looking for people to go with.
I started taking ballet and continued with it all through my 30’s. It is not easy, and my 40 year old body couldn’t take the demands of it any more, so I stopped. This, needless to say, was not something my husband wanted to participate in with me.
So, last winter we began to exercise together at a health club. We also enjoy hiking and biking together. I can’t say that we’re marathon-ready but it’s better than nothing!
Kayaking sounds like a great hobby! I have no healthy habits at the moment.
I was always curious about it, but never attempted- ya might have prompted me to get out there and get-my-kayak-on!
Larry!
That’s awesome to hear on the kayaking! I’ll let you know when I get to that point.
That would be fun!

Pam-
Keep up the good work at the health club, that’s great! The hiking and biking sounds like fun too! It’s a beautiful time of year for that.

Kyle- Go for it, man! –Buddy
Tour Kayaking is great fun and a good way to build up your upper body. White water is something else again. You had better be in shape and take some serious lessons before you attempt it. All Kayaks are not created equal. There is a boat for every type of activity and size person. There is nothing like being on the lake and watching the sun come up over the mountains. Or at night being out in the dark, in moderate chop, paddling against the wind heading for the lights off in the distance. Gliding along the base of a shear cliff looking at all the rock formations close up, that’s really nice. You want adventure, you want beauty, kayaking is the way to go. It is truly a family sport. But I must warn you, a two person boat is called a divorce maker. Like in other aspects in marrige, when your out of sinc with your partner it can be very trying, so get your own.— Talk it up, ask questions, get the right equipment and you will be able to enjoy this sport well into the sunset of your life.
LAV- You should do a commercial for kayaking!
That sounds awesome, man! Can’t wait! -Buddy
