One of my fondest memories with Mark Batterson from this past weekend was having him as the first guest in our new home! God just ambushed the Cremeans with our dream house on steroids! I’ll blog later about the whole story…it’s a miracle! At any rate… we shot hoops. A little friendly game of HORSE. Mark played college ball …..you can tell by his physique. I played college ball as well ….you can’t tell by my physique. I look like I should be in the WWF.
The question is …who won? I promised not to blog about it since Mark asked me not too. So I’ll respect that. If you talk to him…ask him who won. All I can say is he wants a rematch on his turf in DC.
I know God is telling me to play more. I have gotten way too serious since starting Northway Church. Ministry can engulf your entire life with all the different pressures. I’m changing that…..I’m going to be playing more hoops! Playing more with my family! Playing more with my staff! Playing more with my church!
I’m excited to have the whole staff over tomorrow to our house! We will have a blast celebrating God’s goodness, and I’ll school all of them just like I did my friend from D.C.
Have you gotten too serious? Do you schedule recreation time for yourself? Are you playing with your staff, your team? Mark is great at this.

I enjoy the blogs and podcasts. I try to get to NC when I’m home visiting the family.
I must say all this chatter about how good you are on the b-ball court has me interested. It’s a good thing I’m down in NYC, so you can avoid facing some real talent.
Besides, I wouldn’t want to embarass a Pastor on the court. You have a reputation to uphold.

Tradition says that hoopers from Philly are better than NYC. I am sensing some smack talk. Proof is in the net. Don’t worry about embarrassing me…perhaps we could have the showdown in front of the whole church.
Buddy. Great blog. Good reminder. Seems guys that are always driving, never stop to pause and see what or (in my case) who is around me.
Keep us in your prayers. We are in New Zealand, going to help out with a conference and then going to speak in a few different churches in Australia. I will try to hook up with you in a couple weeks. We are excited to come hang with you and your church in NY.
