Thomas Jefferson said, “Every generation needs its own revolution.”
rev•o•lu•tion: A sudden, complete or marked change. A thorough replacement of an established system.
If Thomas Jefferson is correct, what do we need to CHANGE right NOW in the Northeast?
The Revolution begins…4.26,27.08
We are up and rolling with Cremeans Couch. The insight from my first guest, Craig Groeschel, is Solid Gold! The feedback has been fantastic! This coming Monday, my guest will be Steven Furtick. I met Steven at a round table meeting with Craig Groeschel last year, and I didn’t have a clue who he was. Since then, I have followed his story. Plain and simple…God’s hand is on this dude. He is blowing it out of the box in Charlotte, NC. Elevation Church is 2 years old and running 3,000 people! Insane in the membrane! This guy fires me up!
All you leaders and bloggers, please help me spread the word in the blog world about this free leadership resource to jump start your Monday mornings!
Went to the creek last night and had a frog catching contest with my daughter. That’s right. I said a frog catching contest…that’s what you do when you live in the country. I was up 5 to 1…no competition. The secret is all in how you approach the frog. Out of nowhere…Natalie scored 6 unanswered frogs! I’m way too competitive. It was on…7 to 5, Nat in the lead. I scored 2 in a row…tie game.
Who wants it more? I do! I want the frog title! It’s a male ego thing! I looked everywhere for frogs. Natalie rattled off 3 in a row! Schooled by a school girl! Congrats, Nat!
Got be honest, I have enjoyed this series of posts, but the title is a little depressing. OK a lot depressing…should have come up with another title…so let’s move on. If the secret to the rest of the race is mental and passion…we are terrible at addressing this season in the Christian community!
There seems to be oceans of organizations and info out there targeting the first leg of the race. Comparatively, to “ a drop” of info for the second half of the race. You know…it can almost be perceived as “leg worship”. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s how you finish that people remember most. No, I’m not trying to minimize the first leg…check out my other post. But I believe we have an epic problem preparing people to run the rest of the race in order to finish strong. I also believe we are lousy at cheering people on in the home stretch.
Does this bother anybody else?
Do you have any ideas on how we could improve on this?
Do you know of any info out there?
Who do you know that has finished strong?
What time is it? More specifically, what time is it for God’s church?
I love Andy Stanley’s take on VISION: what could be, what should be? So let’s drill down deeper and ask…what’s God’s vision for His church right NOW? What could be…what should be…for the bride of Christ today?
In part 3 of CC, Craig will share his heart on what he believes God’s vision is for the church globally. I don’t want to give it away, but let me just say I agree ONE hundred percent! It’s time for…What could be…what should be…what must be!
How could you encourage another church or pastor in your community this week? A phone call? A card? An email? How could you share resources? How can we have a spirit of cooperation instead of competition?
Let me encourage you to check out One Prayer, an unprecedented opportunity for all of us to stand together. Thank you again, Craig, for being so gracious to me with your time on CC. Thank you, Craig, for your insight and leadership. I’m praying and looking forward to what God does thru One Prayer. I’m also jacked about you being on the big screen at Northway Church!
Thank you God! The bad news…probably the most awkward service I have ever been a part of……These things happen…it usually doesn’t happen in 2s….I feel horrible for any guest this weekend at CP. Thank you again for your prayers and for staying calm in a awkward situation.
It’s ALL GOOD.
- Devin and I stayed up til 2:00 am watching Black Hawk Down (tv version)
- Debbie and I watched Awakening. Dude, that movie was awesome! Deb cried twice.
- Rented 3:10 to Yuma. This is a dude movie!
- Hooked on Deadliest Catch. I know it’s TV…but I didn’t want to change my title
- Pumped about the NBA playoffs…the best of the west…meets Boston!
- Anybody have tickets?…and want to hook a pastor up?…I’m available.
- Honestly, not too much out there worth watching…any other good movies I’m missing?
I wonder if Northway should go on TV? What are the pros? What are the cons?
Rest of the Race
I think I’m right in the middle of my race. Reality is, no one really knows…do we?
This past week, I was reminded again of the reality of mortality. Two different friends of mine had friends of theirs brake thru the ticker tape of life and cross the finish line unexpectedly in their 30s. Kind of freaks me out…but it’s real life.
Moses tells us to number our days…why? That we may realize the brevity of life. The reality is, no matter where you think you are in your race…”your race”…”THE RACE” is short.
I think Mo knew how to run. Psalm 90:12
Gorgeous sunset You painted tonight God! Two silver strings of popcorn braided clouds dissolving in the distance, supported by golden beams, sinking slowly into tomorrow.
Fragrances forming….the smell of spring.
Shutting my eyes, a symphony of sounds
Crickets crescendo, frogs entertaining the song, as birds begin to calm.
Good Evening GOD!
