Braveheart, Patriot, and Gladiator are all testosterone driven blockbuster movies! As men, we love stories that inspire us to fight… Stories that get us amped and ramped up for battle, to charge the hill and take the MOUNTAIN!
As Warriors of God, make no mistake we need to be men of passion. We need to be men of enthusiasm. But if that is all that we are, then God says that we are stupid.
Proverbs 19:2 – Ignorant zeal is worthless.
Warrior wisdom is acquiring both wisdom and passion. Warrior wisdom is being informed and empowered on the battles we face as men. Warrior wisdom is listening and learning from those warriors who have battled MORE than us, and are still standing. Warrior wisdom is listening and learning from other warriors’ successes and failures. Warrior wisdom is realizing that you will only survive and thrive in this life with JESUS CHRIST.
Recently, I heard God leading me. Buddy, you don’t need more passion, and you don’t need more enthusiasm. Lean into me for wisdom and become a warrior of wisdom.
Do you need more wisdom, or do you need more passion?

Wisdom. Wisdom. Wisdom. As a people I believe we are ingrained with passion. Passion that is witnessed when we love, when we hate, when we live, when we speak. Passion is not something learned or lost. It is at the core of our being. Wisdom on the other hand, is not innate. We aren’t born knowing how to speak. We don’t come out of the womb knowing how to program a vcr or use a telephone.
Wisdom is learned. It is taught, and searched for. It is why I read magazines, blogs, websites, (the occasional book). It’s why we seek out those above us, while honoring those all around us. We seek it like we know we need it, but unsure why. A baby knows to love its mom at birth. The same way a teenager knows that home is always home. The same way twins know when the other is injured without seeing it happen. Passion is a feeling, an emotion, a drive.
I seek only wisdom. The wisdom to be effective at the things I am truly passionate for. Without wisdom, I know my passions mean little to those around me. Effective communication will make those who listen passionate for your cause.
I need more wisdom buddy, with great wisdom brings great passion. I need ot know what I am passionate about. Help me, guide me in the right direction.
Buddy,
Sign me up for a tall order of wisdom! I bring the passion, I daily pray for more wisdom. I have been reading proverbs lately, “it” by Craig Groeschel…Wild at heart…Bold Fresh Piece Of Humanity by Bill Orielly…Thou Shall Prosper by Rabi Daniel Lapin…These are the books from this months list. Every single piece of wisdon these men speak of is found in the book of Proverbs…MY FAVORITE next to Genesis!
I believe if we had more active men of wisdom…spreading the message into the entire Northeast would happen easily. THIS is my prayer is that MEN will get “it”. Our wives and other women provide the all important foundation that is necessary for our continued success but MEN will win MEN into the body of Christ. This is not meant to be a sexist statement. This statement is meant to say that men and women (in my humble opinion) bring different but equelly wonderfull spiritual gifts into the ministry…and women usually get “it” before men do. I believe this is because women naturally seek security and find that in a church environment. Men don’t naturally believe that it is acceptable to be a “warrior” in church. We must be femenized or sissyfied as my dad would say! I AM A WARRIOR!!! FFFRRREEEDDDOOOMMM!!!
What’s your take on this?
Justin, Well said. Run after wisdom.
Glen, I encourage you to read Proverbs for wisdom…. I would then ask you what makes you angry? poverty? injustice? broken homes? abuse? I get angry about the church not reaching out to those far from God…..so God led me to start a church to do something about it……what makes you angry Glen?
Steve, Nice reading list.
My take is FREEEEEEEDOOOOOOM!!!!i
Hi Buddy
Thanks for leading us to God’s Word to find The Father, The Word and The Holy Spirit. It says in Proverbs: True Humility and Fear of the Lord give or bring us Wisdom. Wisdom gives us riches, honor and long life. Since Wisdom is the principle thing, Thanks for pointing us to Wisdom…God Bless you and your Word…from the Lord…

Hey Buddy,
First and foremost I want to stop and thank you for helping me over the years get faith back and believe without a shadow of doubt. Second I want to thank you for saluting us Veterans on Saturday night at CP. I am a former Marine and now National Guardsman who is leaving this month (June) for Iraq to help train the Iraq Police officers with there daily challenges so we can once and for all leave that country. This weekend in Clifton Park 5/31 will be my last time with you guys for a little over a year while I am on tour, my wife Jennifer will keep my spirits there while I am gone. I am hoping to be able to broadcast you while I am over there and introduce you to the 206 MP Company. We are filled with Warriors but we still need to be led.
Thanks for all that you have done not only for me but for everyone who learns about NC. Give Brian my best and tell him to keep me in his prayers while I am away, he’s been a great friend and role model. Thanks to all of you.
