This Weekend…LOVE 146

love-146

It is our honor and privilege to have LOVE 146 with us this weekend at Northway Church.

LOVE 146 is an organization that fights modern day slavery, specifically child sex trafficking by prevention and aftercare. Trafficking generates $32 billion dollars annually making it the second most lucrative crime in the world. 27 million people live enslaved in our world.

You will have the chance to hear from the co-founder of LOVE 146, Rob Morris, as he makes us aware of what is going on in our world regarding trafficking, as well as practical ways that we as a church can do our part to ensure that children grow up in a world where they are FREE!

Love refuses to do nothing!

Due to the nature of this weekend’s services, I strongly recommend that elementary age children and younger take part in our exciting Kidzway ministry.

See you this weekend!

Love 146

Love refuses to do nothing!

As we continue our ONE THING series, we are bringing the founder of LOVE 146, Rob Morris, to Northway Church on February 27th and 28th.

Love 146 is a organization that fights modern day slavery, specifically child sex trafficking by prevention and aftercare. Trafficking generates $32 Billion dollars annually making it the second most lucrative crime in the world. 27 million people live enslaved today.

Don’t miss weekends at Northway Church as we continue to do the ONE THING… both locally and globally.

Why the name “LOVE 146″?

In 2002 Rob Morris and others traveled to South East Asia to witness first hand the atrocity of child sex slavery and the hope of abolition and restoration. While there, Rob and Lamont went undercover with professional investigators into a brothel. In that brothel, they witnessed little girls standing behind a wall of glass, each wore a matching red dress with a number pinned to her chest; they were watching children’s cartoons on small television sets. Men were purchasing these girls by the number pinned to her dress. As Rob and Lamont looked at these children watching cartoons they were struck by the eyes of each child. Their eyes seemed empty, without spark of life, like robots. And then there was #146. The only one not watching cartoons, she was staring back through the glass with fire and fight left in her eyes, there was still life there. In her eyes we found our calling. In her number came our name.

One Thing Ambush

What is the ONE THING that can change the world?

LOVE!

We have a family in our church – the Marsicano’s – that live a life of love the way that God intended it.

Randy and Linda’s son, Trevor, is currently competing in the Olympics. You can check him out on NBC.

We decided to ambush them with the ONE THING in order to help them get to Vancouver to see their son compete.

Trevor Marsicano – Gold Medal Contender (1 of ?)

Humility precedes honor.

God’s equation for success. Scripture tells us in 1 Peter 5:5-6, “God opposes the proud but favors the humble. So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.”

trevor-marsicano-2009-3-12-16-33-27Canada Speedskating Worlds

Tonight, against all odds, Trevor Marsicano will continue his journey towards Olympic Gold. Trevor has received an inheritance of humility from his remarkable family. His parents, Randy and Linda, and his sister, Samantha, are some of the most humble people you could ever meet. For the last seven years the entire family has served behind the scenes at Northway Church in many capacities. Fast forward to today and the whole Marsicano squad will be thrust into the spotlight as the world watches Trevor race.

I’ll be blogging about Trevor and the family over the next week. Be sure to tune into NBC and join me and Northway, as we cheer him and his family on! Go Trevor!

We are praying for you! We believe in You! We love you!

One Thing – Breaks Records!

This past weekend we kicked off our new series One Thing.

It was a remarkable weekend!

Our Northway Clifton Park location expanded from 3 service experiences to 5.

The results?

Clifton Park grew by 23 percent in one weekend!

In addition, Northway shattered all other non holiday attendance records!

Glory to God!

I want to thank you Northway…

Thank you for your faith.

Thank you for stepping UP and serving.

Thank you for praying for your church.

Thank you for inviting your friends.

And thank you for praying for me. I could feel your prayers.

Let’s keep the momentum going this weekend for Valentine’s weekend and experience another record breaker!

This weekend’s message on LOVE is a perfect weekend to invite your friends.

I’ll be praying for you and your friends at our Clifton Park, Colonie, and Berkshires Locations.

- Pastor Buddy

Please note we are tweaking our 5 service times in Clifton Park to…
